GREAT LOCATION
Sunshine Hotel is located in Malia, which is exactly at the centre of Crete. That makes the island exploration easy! Due to the location and the wonderful climate, Malia represents a touristic place with well organised companies from all the categories. The road seems to split the village in two, the old town of Malia from one side, and the newest part of the town in the other side, that is near the coastline.
Beside the archaeological palace you can visit the historical temples of the old village and the bioplace of the river.

Also very close to Malia is Stalis from one side and Sissi from the other (Famous fish village). Other points of interest very near to us is the Creta Acuarium, Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, Elouda.
Moreover for those who want to live like Greeks, Krassi Village, Mochos Village and Lasithi Plateau with the Zeus Cave are excellent choices. Knossos Palace is just 35 km from Malia, the biggest Palace in Mediterranean!
MALIA OLD TOWN
Visiting the narrow traditional streets of the Malia old town is a must. Traditional taverns, old churches, cafes and live music travels every visitor in the 1960s greek culture.
Don’t miss the Agios Ioannis Venetian church which is surrounded with many restaurants and cafes. Start your walk early in the evening, explore all secret places, get a drink and enjoy the Cretan mezze. Don’t forget your camera to capture this beautiful place.
